I listed 3 things that basically do the same thing, you applied more than one at a time and had bad outcome. and turning of intels short turbo doesnt gimp the system. but I dont think its gonna stop the chip from over heating. not sure what else to expect from a solution. turn off short turbo and that goes away with no performance lost. pubg puts me over 90 in aboiiut 60 seconds. None of this would be the builds fault, hp should have known but its not the setup. otherwise the chip isnt gonna run cool enough in any case.

This chips runs hot in every build though.so if intel is adding a software option that is causing it.and i can turn that off with no 100% is a solution, lol. On a side note, the Foxconn made RTX 3080 is exceptional, cool, quiet, heavy, well engineered cooling solution and powerful, I absolutely love it! I think in more roomy case, if won't even go over 65C.

Now, there is another factor to consider, I am gaming on 1080p screen, where the CPU plays a bigger role, I suspect that at 2K or 4K the CPU temps will stay much lower, since at those resolutions, the RTX 3080 will take the load and flex it's muscles.
